Foam Tapes (Interior/Exterior)

Lynx Specialty Tapes carries a broad line of single- and double-coated foam products for everything from general mounting to structral bonding.

Double-Coated Foam Tapes:

Light Duty Polyethylene Mounting: 2#-6# Per Cubic Foot. These products are general purpose mounting foams designed for interior and exterior mounting. Available with both rubber based (for interior) and acrylic (for exterior) adhesives. Both types of adhesives are permanent.

Medium Density Polyethylene: 8#-12# Per Cubic Foot. These higher density foams were designed for heavier duty applications than the polyethylene foams listed above. These products feature an aggressive acrylic adhesive with excellent weathering properties making them an ideal choice for outdoor mounting and long lasting performance.

Medium Density PVC: 15# Per Cubic Foot. Designed for gasketing, cushioning, vibration dampening, and applications requiring a less compressible foam to maintain a consistent gap between two dissimilar surfaces. Not a mounting foam.

High Density Urethane: 22#-28# Per Cubic Foot. Aggressive acrylic adhesive. Can be used for mounting applications. These products are less compressible than the medium density PVCS.

Ultra High Bond Acrylic Foam*: These are the highest performance products. Originally designed for the automotive industry and used for adhering body side molding to the exterior of cars. They feature excellent weathering properties and are resistant to UV, heat, humidity and chemicals. They offer semi-structural adhesion to a wide range of surfaces:

Single-Coated Foam Tapes:

Light Density PVC: 7#-8# Per Cubic Foot. These products work well in cushioning, vibration dampening and sound deadening applications. They also seal out dust and insects. Highly comformable and easy to compress but tougher than polyethylene foams.

Note: Ultra High Bond Acrylic Foam Tapes do not bond well to powder coated paint surfaces. Testing should be extensive; an adhesive promoter may have to be applied to the surface prior to bonding the Acrylic Foam Tape.
